Pretendo evidenciar algunos conceptos con los que he venido trabajando en mi trabajo artístico, como la memoria, el espacio, lo cotidiano y la dicotomía entre lo público y lo privado. Ubicar elementos que son del cotidiano y situarlos en un espacio expositivo, sacándolos de su contexto, para ubicarlos en un espacio que dialoguen con el entorno; la luz como elemento importante que permite que estos tres elementos (gabinetes) sean más visibles, logrando una proyección en el espacio a través del reflejo.

Nota: El término gabinete, del francés antiguo gabinet, tiene distintos usos. Se conoce como gabinete a la habitación pequeña, de menor tamaño que la sala, donde el propietario del inmueble recibe a las personas de su confianza.

 

De esta manera, partiendo de dicha acepción, es importante subrayar el hecho de que en el ámbito de la Medicina es frecuente hacer uso del término gabinete. En este caso, se emplea para referirse a la estancia en la que los profesionales sanitarios de un centro hospitalario se reúnen para hablar de cuestiones laborales, para descansar y también para hablar en intimidad, de cara a realizar una acción informativa, con los familiares de algún paciente que tienen ingresado y que ha sido sometido a algún tipo de intervención.

Gabinete también es un local que exhibe una colección de objetos vinculados al arte o a la ciencia, y la habitación provista de los aparatos necesarios para examinar a pacientes (como en el caso del gabinete de un dentista).

I intend to highlight some concepts with which I have been working in my artistic work, such as memory, space, the everyday and the dichotomy between public and private. Locate elements that are from the everyday and place them in an exhibition space, taking them out of their context, to place them in a space that dialogue with the environment; light as an important element that allows these three elements (cabinets) to be more visible, achieving a projection in space through reflection.

Note: The term cabinet, from the old French cabinet, has different uses. The small room, smaller than the living room, is known as a cabinet, where the owner of the property receives the people he trusts.

 

In this way, starting from this meaning, it is important to underline the fact that in the field of Medicine it is common to use the term cabinet. In this case, it is used to refer to the stay in which the health professionals of a hospital center meet to discuss work issues, to rest and also to speak in privacy, in order to carry out an informative action, with the relatives of some patient who has been admitted and who has undergone some type of intervention.

 

Cabinet is also a place that exhibits a collection of objects related to art or science, and the room provided with the necessary equipment to examine patients (as in the case of a dentist's cabinet).
